Lumpy is 'in to' dinosaurs at the minute - and is often 'rawr rawr'. The museum has an exhibit on with 2 replica large scale dinosaurs and eggs and foot prints, and the skeletons and random bones upstairs on another floor.
We took lumpy in to see them today!

Gallery of Modern Art
Thanks once again to Homemade Mumma for the idea! (http://homemademumma.blogspot.com/) I love reading your blog and knowing you are local!
So a wet weather activity anyone? especially on school holidays? Check out Gallery of Modern arts Yayoi Kusama: The obliteration room & Pip & Pop we miss you magic land! Thats where EVERYONE from Brisbane with kids was today!! (ok not really it just seemed like it).
Both exhibitions were loved by Miss Lumpy who is almost 2.
They are both also FREE.
The obliteration room invites visitors to obliterate the completely white surfaces of a life sized Australian living room, re-created within the Gallery, with coloured adhesive dots
Not an entirely free day out- parking and max brenner but still a cheap fun educational (kinda) day out :)

Mmm bread
Lumpy and I went for arvo tea picnic and play at the park. I made a loaf of bread.
I cut and vegemite'd 2 slices... I looked up and lumps has a mouth FULL of bread...
She had started eating through from the other side!!!
We also found a feather which I explained was from a bird, so the feather was now called bird!

My Junior Masterchef
Lumpy's conjunctivitis was better today (completely gone or she wouldn't be preparing food!) and she was able to go to daycare... UNTIL she dropped Harley's ceramic bowl on her foot and now has a bruised and horrible toe!
SO, what can we do to keep entertained today? I decided we could do some easy baking today, I made muffins and Lumpy made us some bread (with the breadmakers help).
She was so proud of herself for helping, She takes tasks very very seriously. She is often asking if she can help. What's a little mess when a little one is learning?
Lumpy is still having her nap... BUT I sampled it shhh, its sooooo yummy!
Again proof having fun with and teaching your child new thinsg does not have to cost you the earth :)
Enjoy the time with our kids - once these little years are gone they will never come back.
