Spontaneous road trip!

Yesterday we couldn't decide if we drive to Mt Tamboeine coffee plantation or Byron Bay to buy fresh coffee beans. So as we are driving we decide to head to Kennilworth for cheese and yogurt instead!

There is a lovely play ground opposite the cheese factory, with a fenced off area for the smaller kids.

A short stop in Maleny - so many wonderful shops! Also a lovely fully fenced play ground!

Lots of new exploring for Lumpy! And a great family day out .

Have a safe and happy new year! Remember to spend time with your loved ones.
Cheese this way!

After the cheese factory we headed home an stopped at 'fig tree walk', where Miss Lumpy had to wear her tail on the walk - it is a very easy walk and pram/wheelchair accessible.
Tall trees are fascinating to little people!

Christmas crafts

We have some work happening in our back yard so lumpy is confined to the house.
While I was at lady bunnings (aka spotlight) they had 50% off Xmas things. I grabbed a reindeer for a rainy day activity....
Well today was kinda a rainy day?!?
Oh this post is done on the blogger iPhone app!!!

This reindeer DID do "the rounds" and appeared on 4 Tables for our Christmas festivities - must post those pics!

busy, busy, busy!

What an amazingly crazy time of the year! and... lots of free events on for the kids (ok and the big mummy kids!). On sunday we had a petting zoo (and other activities) on in our local park - Lumpy however was too tired  to stay for long. Sunday night we went to see the myer windows in the city, and the giant Christmas tree in King George square - ok we had to pay for parking for those 2 -$12 for 3 of us so not bad really.
Tonight if teh rain stays away we will be going for a walk around our neighbourhood to check out the christmas lights. SOme only have a few up BUT Lumpy (and mummy) love them anyway.

Ok this one is from rowdy rascals play centre on friday. Look how much fun she is having!!!

What are your free Christmas activities you have done/will do?

Murphy's creek.

Murphy's Creek may sound familiar to some. It is in te hupper Lockyer Valley which was part of Queensland where lives were lost in the January floods.
We went camping here last weekend - It was soooo dry and the creek bed was cracking, It was so hard to imagine that 11 months ago the water was FLOWING with such force it knocked down most things in its way.

the dry creek bed.

"Home"

hello? water??

oh we found some water!!!

Summer play.

We have recently just put out some new grass seeds so we need to water them daily for a few days. Miss Lumpy wanted in on this action! she really loved the water from the hose.

Oops I need watering too!

Such a busy day, from watering to lunch with daddy and then onto my mums house to play with cousins and hang around for "ninner" time!
Makes me sad that she can't play under a soaker hose in summer like we used to "back in the day". Wow I feel old! I mentioned in a previous blog that she loved the phone booth in a library and that i realised she had never seen a real one and now the soaker hose. Any other things we enjoyed as kids that out kids never will?!

Summer play.

We have had lots of outdoor play now that it's warmer.Lumpy can spend so long playing outside, sliding, swinging, digging dirty, making Harley's water bowl a play zone.

these photos were taken at night by the daddy one .

Yesterday we went to our local pool (which was completely submereged back in the floods). Lumpy had a blast! she also was realy upset at having to go home!

She was soooooo excited to find a noodle!

Healthier life style!

Here is a link to an awesome Fb page that is a Heart foundation Mums united initiative. http://www.facebook.com/wearemumsunited
Basically encouraging healthier lifestyles - more activity with your kids, better eating (yes heart foundation tick foods!).

This is an awesome reference for ideas. I know some people percieve this as sexist, I however see it as a great thing. Our children have a lower life expectanacy to us due to the increased obesity, the processed foods and inactive lifestyles enjoyed by parents and subsequently our children.

Remember a happy healthy mumma = happy healthy baby!!

Will post in Lumpy's nap time photos of her and her watermelon!

Backyard adventure

Not much to say about these really. I just set up a balance thing and put out the tyres and let her do the rest (meant I could have a coffee mmmmm)

Harley supervising Lumpy

Found something of interest!

My tiny dancer!!

I know I know, I always say "Halloween is NOT an Aussie thing so people should not celebrate/trick or treat" BUUUUT when i got an email from Lone Pine koala park saying they had a family fun day for Halloween on today, well I had to go!
First we had to go to Spotty and get a ballerina outfit.

Lumpy truly has no sense of fear, that became very apparent today when she run up and jumped on a kangaroo. I on the other hand was petrified (have you seen those claws?!?).
Buying a yearly pass for Lone Pine (Lumps is free until 3) was the best thing we could have done, so local and so much to do (well for a little kid can you really ever get sick of patting animals and listening to grunting Koalas?).
very unhappy tiny dancer!

Oh puddle!!!

"mumms shhhhhicken"

She LOVED the Roos!

Please coem back! she chased this one for a while before admitting defeat.

Fascinated by the Pumpkin with a face!

Hmmm, perhaps i should check out coles and make her a pumpkin?!?! But it does seem like  a lot of work....

After day care exploring.

Just a quick entry - After day care (and work) we washed Harley - which consisted of mumma doing all the work and Lumpy grabbing her sqeezy bottle of blue food dye and squirting that all over Harley! Then we  took him for a walk. Lumpy decided to explore her yard and our neighbours trees!

:( i have tried uploading these so many times but they keep being sideways :(
Digging,

Harley checking out what Lumpy is doing.

Hey what are these things in the tree mumma??

Oh what's over there?
